Tansian university – is situated in Nigeria’s Anambra State’s Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area. A private Christian university, that is. Before the permanent site was established in Umunya, it began as a temporary location in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area. Rev. Msgr. Prof. John Bosco Akam founded it. The Anambra State government, led by Governor Peter Obi, donated money and vehicles for Tansian University’s infrastructure development despite the fact that it is a private university. Rev Msgr Prof John Akam, the university’s founder, passed away in 2021.
